Boudoir: Do it for YOU

You don’t need a special occasion or reason to book a photography session with me, just like you don’t need a reason to wear sexy lingerie when you’re alone in your house on a Tuesday night. Just do it! Why? Because it’s nice to feel beautiful and sexy and feminine, dammit!

Many of my clients contact me initially because they’d like to surprise their fiancé with a sexy little boudoir album before their wedding day, or gift their spouse a gorgeous anniversary present to spice things up a bit (ooh la la). Boudoir photos can be a super sexy and unexpected gift.  But let’s be real ladies - the experience is for you, and you deserve it.

As women, we frequently struggle with self-love, and we put everyone else’s needs and happiness before our own. We look in the mirror and don’t always love what we see because we wish we were 5 pounds lighter, or focus on that little wrinkle that wasn’t there a year ago. We find every excuse to not celebrate the amazing badass women we are.

I understand how easy it is to not love yourself. I went through five years of lousy times, I call them the terrible twenties. Those years included a lot of crap. To give you a short but dramatic recap… divorce, learning to date as an adult, being run over by an actual car, a touch of PTSD… Honey, I was done with my twenties. I felt a mega lack of self-confidence during those times. And sometimes, even though I’m in a pretty great place now (hello 30’s) - those memories still get the best of me.

We all need a giant reminder of how f-ing great we are from time to time. To embrace the bodies we live in right now, and to love ourselves for everything we’ve been through. Even if we’re not at our “goal weight,” or if we haven’t learned to appreciate our literal or metaphorical scars just yet. A boudoir or beauty session will change the way you see yourself. THAT is why I do what I do. Because I believe every woman deserves to see a gorgeous, raw portrait of herself and feel proud of whatever season of life she is in. I want to help you celebrate your unique femininity and create stunning images of you that will last a lifetime.

Yoga Boudoir

Hey, girl hey! I hope everyone is staying safe at home.  Brian, Luna, and I are getting ready to make our move from Berkeley over to Oakland (a whopping 4 miles away), and I can’t wait to break in my new studio! The new space is roomy, light-filled, comfortable, and totally private.  Keep a lookout for a video studio tour soon.

In the meantime, I am so thankful to be able to share a few photos from the last client session I had before we all hunkered down to shelter in place. I had so much fun working with this gorgeous client!

She wanted to show off all the beautiful sides of her that make her feel sexy and empowered. For her - That meant throwing in some fantastic yoga shots and a badass leather jacket.

I can’t imagine it is ever easy to do a handstand. Let alone a handstand while wearing lingerie and having a photographer say, “Oh, wait! Hold that for just a second longer. Your legs look amazing!”

I’d love to photograph more yogi babes.  If you’re interested in an intimate yoga photography session in the San Francisco Bay Area, please shoot me an email at, and let’s make it happen this summer!

Give A Damn

Howdy! You’ve had your fantastic boudoir photography session.  You’re feeling super brave, confident, and sexy. Exciting News - It’s time to order your photos!  Here are three things to consider when deciding how you’d like to present and preserve your gorgeous portraits.

1. We are looking to memorialize your killer body and honor your femininity. Don’t let your images die on a screen.  Photographs are meant to be printed. There is nothing quite like a handcrafted photo album to display your portraits in a way that you (and bae) can hold and admire. Although online galleries and digital image displays are becoming an increasingly popular way to display photographs, there is still nothing like a physical album or epic piece of wall art.

2. Albums are keepsakes.  Albums are books that tell your story. Well-designed albums inspire and elicit a wide range of emotions in incredible detail and brilliant color. Many photographers will spend hours or even days to craft a design that shows off your images as individual works of art. Albums are well worth the investment - they will last a lifetime and make your images accessible to you and anyone you deem worthy. You are much more likely to revisit these portraits in 10 years if you have a printed book than if they live solely on your current phone or computer.

3. Why not just print the photos yourself at somewhere like Costco or Walgreens? You get what you pay for here. Budget-friendly places like these don’t do high-quality prints, especially for anything larger than a 5x7. The process of color correction and calibration is often overlooked by these labs but is essential to reproducing what you see on your computer screen accurately onto printed media. Most consumer-facing print labs do not offer the standards of quality that professional printers do, and you may find yourself with prints that are muddy and awkwardly trimmed.
