FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Where will my photo session take place?

A: Sessions take place in my private, naturally lit studio located in Oakland, CA.  Because I am originally from Austin, I travel to Texas yearly and am open to scheduling shoots with my Southern babes as well. Those time slots will be announced to anyone on my email list, and typically on the Andrea Liora Instagram page.

Q: Do I have to use your makeup artist and hairstylist, or can I do my own?

A: Pro hair and makeup is included in most of my sessions. Makeup for boudoir & beauty photography is much different than the makeup you use for everyday life. It is also a way for you to relax before your shoot and feel pampered before we get into uncomfortable feeling (yet great-looking) poses. My local makeup artist will work with you to create the perfect look for your portraits. Not sure what type of look to ask for? Check out my Pinterest board for some ideas!

Q: Will you use my boudoir images on the Internet?

A: Boudoir images are sensitive to many people. I completely understand if you don’t want your images displayed on my website, blog, social media, studio samples, etc. With the exception of Studio Ambassador sessions, I do not use your Boudoir photos ANYWHERE unless you have granted permission through our client Permission Slip to do so. In this document, you can specify where and how your photos can be used. If you DO want to be featured across my platforms (which I greatly appreciate!), you select which ones you feel comfortable with during your viewing session.

*For Studio Ambassador sessions, a signed Model Release is required at booking.

Q: Who will be at the shoot? Should I bring a friend?

A: We are an all-female studio. That being said, you can absolutely bring one girlfriend with you (as long as you'll be comfortable posing in front of her). I ask that your friend not interfere with the shoot, snap photos of her own, or try to assist with posing you. Please understand, we do not allow partners in the studio while we are shooting; or at reveal sessions. That's a firm policy.

*UPDATE: Covid-19 restrictions may require us to temporarily suspend this policy once we are up and running again this summer. Session participation is limited to: photographer, hair/makeup artist, and the person being photographed. We will be following all state and local guidelines to keep you and our studio team safe. We will update this section once we know more. Thank you for understanding. xoxo

Q:  I need my images by a specific date. When should I book my shoot?

A: I recommend women have their shoot date scheduled about 3 months before they need finished products in-hand. As soon as you’ve decided you want to go on this journey with me as your photographer, book your session.  Session dates are limited and weekend dates fill up especially quickly. If you find yourself in a time crunch - Contact me, and we will do our best to make it work!

Q:  Do you provide lingerie at the studio?

A: For sanitary reasons, I do not offer a client closet. I keep a few accessories on hand, like sheer skirts and other items you may wear over your lingerie. You are not alone in selecting your outfits! Depending on what you describe feeling sexiest in, we'll discuss options together and plan your looks accordingly. I also provide all of my clients with a wardrobe guide, including an extensive list of online and in-person lingerie retailers. I curated this list with every body type and cup size in mind :)

Q: Can I choose to go nude for some of my photos?

A: Yes. :) If you choose to do a tasteful nude set (and I highly recommend that you do), it is considered as one of your "outfit" changes. Exposed breasts and booty can be stunning for a fine art album collection or gorgeous wall art. If you're looking for something a bit more risque (exposed pelvic area, or couples boudoir), while I can certainly appreciate more erotic art, that isn't a look I offer.

Q: I'm not comfortable being photographed nude or in my underwear. Can I still do a boudoir-type session?

A: Yes, girl! I am a photographer for women, and I believe every woman deserves to feel beautiful. Some women prefer slips, or an off the shoulder sweater and jeans. That's just fine with me! If this sounds like the look you're going for, let me know you'd like to book a beauty session with me here. You have so many wardrobe options, and you can always mix in lingerie towards the end of your session. The choice is yours!

Q: Do you photograph men or couples?

A: No.  Posing men or couples together (regardless of gender) is just not my background or specialty. Please note - We do not allow partners in the studio while we are shooting; or at your reveal session. That's a firm policy.

Q: How much does a session cost?

A:  All in-studio boudoir, beauty, and maternity sessions fees are $350, which includes wardrobe consultation, prep guide, professional hair/makeup, 60 - 90 minutes of shooting time, step by step posing, professional editing of images, and a local (in person) viewing session. All images and luxury products are purchased separately. My clients invest between $1050 - $3,800 on collections of digital portraits, printed albums, and wall art.

Please contact me for detailed pricing and offerings.

Q: Do you offer payment plans?

A: I do not offer payment plans apart from my standard breakdown below.

First Payment: After our initial consultation, a $350 session fee and a signed session contract is required to book/reserve your session date.

Second Payment: 10-14 days after your photoshoot, your reveal session takes place. Here you'll view around 40 of the best images from your shoot (fully edited and ready to go). I'll take your order for any products that day, send you an album design proof to be sure you're in love, and shoot you an invoice for your order. Once paid, I send everything off to my album printer to get started.

I accept all major credit cards through my digital invoice system.

Q: How long will my session take?

A: Sessions are approximately 3.5 hours. The first hour and a half will be dedicated to hair and makeup, with the final time dedicated to getting your supermodel on.

Q: Do you offer discounts, mini's, or group sessions?

A: I believe every woman deserves my full, undivided attention. Because of this, I do not offer group sessions.  Any promotional offers, Studio Ambassador call's, or mini session availability will be announced via Instagram or through my monthly newsletter. Sign up below!
